Nick and Gatsby travel to town one day, and there Nick meets Gatsby’s link girl Wolfsheim, one of Gatsby’s associates and organized crime. As the summer progresses, Gatsby and Nick become friends, and Jordan and Nick begin to see each other regularly, despite Nick’s conviction that he is infamously Bayon (which violates his sensibilities because he’s “one of the few honest people” you ever meet). Although the reader is not told exactly what they discussed, Jordan is very surprised by what he has learned. When the party is over, Gatsby takes Jordan aside to talk privately. Gatsby appears to be a kind host, but away from his guests, an observer rather than a participant as if he were looking for something.
There he met Jordan Baker and Gatsby himself. Following Gatsby’s invitation (which is noteworthy because Gatsby is rarely invited to the party they are simply rejected, knowing that their name will not be returned), Nick took part in the glorious Get-Totathar. After describing the incident, Nick directs his attention to his mysterious neighbor, who organizes a weekly party for the rich and elegant. The drunkenness turned to anger and Tom broke Martel’s nose in one clever move. The afternoon is filled with drunken behavior and ends miserably with Mortel and Tom fighting with his wife Daisy. After the group reunited and went on a trip to town, Myrtle called her friends and they all spent the afternoon drinking at Myrtle and Tom’s apartment.
One day Nick is invited to meet the shameless adulterer Tom, her boyfriend Marital Wilson, a middle-class woman whose husband runs a small garage and gas station in the Ashes Valley, the secluded and run-down area of the city that marks the city and periphery. When Nick returned home that night, he noticed his neighbor, Gatsby, mysteriously standing in the dark and reaching the water, and the lone green light across the stress. Buchanan and Jordan Baker live comfortably, in the stark contrast between sensibility and luxury with Nick’s more modest and settled lifestyle.
